KEY GAME INFORMATION
HOUSTON: Major Applewhite replaces Tom Herman as this team's head coach, so expect the offense to continue to be explosive and unpredictable. Under center is talented Texas A&M transfer Kyle Allen. He can make all of the throws. Defensively, Heisman hopeful DT Ed Oliver anchors a solid unit.
FRESNO ST: Fresno State had one of the eight worst rushing defenses in the nation last season, allowing 246.6 YPG on the ground. The Bulldogs need to improve on offense, but they also have to get their offense going. Jeff Tedford should help, but it will take a year or two for any big changes.
