| NORTH TEXAS: The Mean Green are weak along the defensive line, which is going to make things very difficult on the rest of an already subpar unit. But North Texas is still going to find a way to win plenty of games thanks to an offense that should be as explosive as any in the division. As long as quarterback Mason Fine is the signal-caller in head coach Seth Littrell's uptempo spread, the Mean Green are going to be putting up points. They might have to win in shootouts, though'the defense is the only thing holding them back from making serious noise. | | LIBERTY: Liberty has given itself quite a challenge in entering the FBS ranks as an Independent, but this year was as good of a time as any for the move. QB Stephen Calvert (29 TDs, 6 INTs) and WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (1,066 yards, 10 TDs) give the Flames a ready-made aerial connection, and four starters return along the offensive front. A weak run defense needs to improve, but one of the nation's softest schedules should deliver Liberty a handful of wins. |
